Visit Us

A tour of the Blaine House explores the first floor rooms of the house and describes the historical background of teacher turned political leader, James G. Blaine. These guided tours are available for free, but must be scheduled in advance.  There are no walk-in visits.

**July 28, 2025: To ensure the safety of visitors during construction, the Blaine House will be closed to public tours and events until further notice. We anticipate re-opening the Blaine House to visitors later this year, when the construction timeline permits a more safe, predictable, and accessible experience for public visitors. We will announce the re-opening date as soon as we are able. For more information, please contact: alex.aucoin@maine.gov

Holidays

The Blaine House transforms during the holiday season with the help of dedicated volunteers.  Each year, a theme is chosen to highlight the beauty of the home and its connection to Maine.  Holiday tours may be scheduled through the Maine State Museum.

The 2025 Holiday Theme is Scenes of Maine featuring decorations celebrating our beautiful views across oceans, beaches, lakes, mountains and the spectacular night sky.

Host an Event

The Blaine House is available to host gatherings and celebrations for non-profit entities, educational groups and State Departments. For details on fees and availability contact alex.aucoin@maine.gov.
