Brochure & Registration Form
The Blaine House is not only the home of Maine’s Governors and their families; it is also “The People’s House.” As such, it is subject to
continual public use. While basic upkeep of the building is taken care of by state government, there are many aspects of maintaining
and preserving the historic integrity of the House that require private funding.
In 1989, Governor McKernan and his wife, now retired U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe, began a Blaine House restoration program that
raised private funds and made many important improvements to the House. This program was aided by the formation of a Friends group
and it is upon that foundation that the present Friends of the Blaine House seeks to raise money dedicated to keeping and enhancing
Maine’s pride in this historic building.
In holding with that principle, the Friends of the Blaine House are asking for your support by raising money for this worthwhile purpose
at the same time having a great day playing golf with friends and coworkers. In the brochure, you will find more information regarding the
and a contact number should you have any questions.
Thank you for your consideration and for your continuing support of the Blaine House. I hope to see you at the Scramble!
